Waiting for actve and interesting co-operation, The Tampere Youth Forum young:

"THE TAMPERE YOUTH FORUM (NUORISOFOORUMI) was founded in 1998. The board alongside an Education Commitee, an Information Committe, and a Culture and Leisure Committee, was founded in the autumn 2001.
Over all, Nuorisofoorumi currently includes around 30 young members.

The courrent Board consists of 13 MEMBERS whose terms last for a year. The Chairperson of the Board is Hanna Koskela; the two Vice Chairpersons are Kaj Alftan and Juha-Matti Kivinen. The tasks of the Board are to arrange two general meetings annually to gather the members of local educational institutions together and to discuss different issues. The most significant task of the Youth Forum is to follow and take part in the City´s decision-making that concerns the young. The board meets in average two times a month, discussing various subjects of current interest. The three Committtees plan and execute various activities.

The most significant accomplishements of the Youth Forum are the Tampere Ilmio (a music band competititon ) which is gradually becoming a tradition, this year's Tampere Ilmio will take a place in May; a dancing competition; and a biking trip. A long-term project with the goal to get a Culture Card (Kulttuurikortti) has been brought to a successful end, providing discounts and special offers for the city´s minors in different fields of culture, such as musical and sports events, museums and theatres.

The Youth Forum has initiated other activities such as the increasing of band training spots, establishing a youth cafè to tampere, and promoting the right to participate in the City's local political committees.
